Tell us about your background and what led you to becoming a healthcare translation consultant:
I have always loved language, travel and other cultures. Plus, in college, I studied Spanish and community health education. So, this job is a good fit for me because it allows me to combine my education and interests to help healthcare providers bridge language gaps so everyone has access to information that they need.
What types of services do you provide as a healthcare translation specialist?
One of my favorite parts of my job is finding creative solutions for my clients that will work with both their budgets and their timelines. Whether it’s how to use the VIA Translation Platform, understanding ever changing language access requirements or figuring out the best practices for saving time and money, I’m here to answer questions and support my clients from the beginning of a project to the end.
What value does a healthcare translation team provide?
A healthcare translation team will partner with you to make the translation process as efficient and effective as possible. We understand that things come very urgently in the healthcare world and federal mandates are constantly changing. We also understand that you are dealing with sensitive information and it is very important that it is communicated correctly. What is your ideal day outside of the office?
Outside of the office I love spending time exploring the unique and diverse neighborhoods of Portland, OR. I also love spending time in nature and traveling to new places. On a typical weekend you might find me running along the waterfront, taking my dog on a hike, or trying a new restaurant downtown.
